We have a range of tools suitable for most materials and material thicknesses. All our staff who operate the machine have received official AXYZ machine operator training.
We have experience in cutting a range of materials such as plywood, hard woods, laminates and acrylics.
Double sided “flip” jobs can be performed where features are machined on both sides of the work piece with perfect accuracy.
We use Vcarve Pro software for all nesting and tool path generation, this makes for efficient part layout on the material and reduces unnecessary waste.
We use the machine regularly for planning slabs of hardwoods which we use on our tables, this is a very quick process and ensure that the tabletops are perfectly flat and level.
With the tool changer we can schedule the tool paths so materials are featured and cut in one machine set-up. The example below of the love heart style gin chopping board is done this way. To produce this part the machine uses 5 different tools in sequence to produce the features and to cut out the outline of the shape. The 5 tools used are:
- 6mm ball nose cutter (for the juice slot)
- 3mm round over cutter (for the curved edge on the outline outline)
- 4mm downwards spiral (for the text indentation)
- v-bit carver (for making the soft edges on the text indentation)
- 6mm compression cutter (to cut the outline heart shape)
Our favourite material to use on the machine is plywood, for furniture we use only S grade plywood which is the premium quality, through clever design we can make the plywood parts slot together and then be simply glued to achieved the assembled unit.
